Around 1150, the parish Wersen was founded with its own chapel. In 1271, the present parish church, which is in parts still the original church, was built as a late-Romanesque vault building. The oldest building in the community Lotte was extended with a west tower in 1886 and in 1906 with a southern nave. Special features are among other, the organ, constructed by the organ builder Haupt from Ostercappeln in 1860 and the church's nail door. The church is located at the crossing Westerkappelner Straße/ Halener Straße in the village of Wersen.
