Loburg Palace was first mentioned in 1294. Another mentioned from the year 1412, describes the 'castrum Johannes de Beveren' as a knight's castle with fortified mansion. In the 15th-century, the Loburg was extended, but the building fell into disrepair and was pulled down in 1760.
After plans by Johann Conrad Schlaun, a small Baroque palace with an oval courtyard and wide moats over which three drawbridges run was created here in 1766. The palace caught fire by lightning stroke in 1899 and is destroyed to its foundation walls. One year later already, it is replaced by a new neo-baroque building. An English garden with several small buildings was designed in 1903.

During the school year, the knight's hall of Loburg Palace is being used as a venue for theatre performances and concerts, to which often top-calls musicians are invited. One of the annual highlights is also the Advent bazaar on the 1st of Advent.
In the expansive, pretty palace garden is a large rhododendron plantation, through which the Loburg Way of the Cross runs to the bordering forest.
